I noticed there was a a huge flaw in Benitoite's backstory so I've been working to fix it.
In my original draft the truth behind his origins was a little forced, my main problem was that there was not enough characters to delay it coming out. They just spent thousands of years doing nothing.

In this redone version I was able to use some of my gem characters whom had previously not been used, AND had someone who'd logically know Ben is a gem. It's that small fluffy dragon, or the a semi-corrupt Peridot (Semi because her form is broken but not her mind)

Not only was there the pacing issue but there was a plot hole on how Benitoite could've been created in a land where gems can't enter without becoming corrupt, my old excuse was that because he was grown there it made him immune when it didn't work like that. If anything he'd be MORE prone to it or just end up stillborn.
In this version I have redone it so someone had tampered with the crystals to allow for all the things that were once unexplained, who tampered with them? that's a spoiler but we WILL find out later in the story.
